The 20th Anniversary Dinner was celebrated in style on Saturday 2nd March at the fabulous Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrnont. Everyone got dressed up in their finest and soaked up the Harbour Bridge views while trying to avoid a soaking from the lingering showers. A delicious 3-course meal consisting of Gnocchi Pesto Sorrentina
or Tuscan Chicken Fusillli Pasta for starter and Barramundi – warm kipfler potato, caper, olive salad and alsa verde or Bistecca Toscana – beef steak for main. Between courses we heard from the founding Chairman (Geoff) and Dive Officer (Steve) about the events leading up to the formation of the club (officially registered with BSAC on the 3rd March 2004. As diving legend David “Strikey” Strike gave an entertaining talk of the earlier days of SCUBA diving.
A few hardy soles went on to the Pyrmont Bridge hotel for a cleansing ale on the way home.
