The Deep Wall and PJ Party…
Braving the ripping Noth West wind Hartley and the two Steves geared up in an empty carpark with no other divers to be seen, a very rare occurrence for a Sunday morning at Bare Island. Nonetheless, we were keen to get in and decided to head out to the deep wall to have a look.
Heading out and cutting high over the reef on the back side of the Island we dropped over the deep wall to 20 meters to find surprising clear vis and plenty going on. Sponges galore, too many PJs to count, a lone wobbie, and a bunch of starfish Hartley was busy snapping on his GoPro. After checking out the deep wall we promptly cut back across the sand to the usual trail and headed for the exit, which in the hour we had been underwater, had become significantly more surgy making for a difficult exit but nothing our experienced group couldn’t handle.
And of course the Boathouse was the mandatory off gassing location for coffee and breakfast.
Another great Sydney shore dive…
