After a busy year of diving, it was time for the SSAC annual Christmas catch up and the venue of choice this year was the 4 Pines Brew Pub over in Manly. In characteristically hot 40-degree Sydney summer weather 12 SSAC members made the pilgrimage to Manly with those on the licensed Fast Ferry from Circular Quay enjoying a pre-lunch tinnie on route.
Lunch at the brewery was the usual delicious pub classics washed down with a selection of 4 pines many locally brewed ales. After a few hours the conversation shifted from diving to espresso martinis and it was decided a venue change to Manly Wharf Bar was in order. Finally, venturing upstairs to the Mexican establishment the afternoon reached its finale which involved margaritas, tequila, and of course Mexican sombreros and this was when most pulled the rip cord and ventured home. This left Mark and Pete to fly the flag which, rumor has it, was done in spectacular fashion.
A fantastic afternoon celebrating and a great way to top off 2023 including lots of chatter about potential 2024 dive trips (although most likely fueled by a few beers).
