Leap June ’26

Waves Shape

As planned, we headed to The Leap on Sunday to catch the incoming tide, but not before briefly considering a change of plan. Voodoo looked very tempting in the calm conditions, but we quickly reverted to our original plan after hearing reports of fishermen berleying the water and attracting an unwelcome four-metre visitor to the area.

The Leap turned it on and rewarded the two club members who made the trip, with clear visibility and balmy 19 degree water. An adult grey nurse shark and two weedy sea dragons made an appearance, and we made the most of the great conditions by extending the dive beyond an hour. Don, the operator of a small local dive shop, later confirmed that the grey nurse has been around for several weeks. As usual, coffee and munchies at Milkhouse rounded out a great day.

Another great SSAC shore dive!
