The forecast was looking good, and with the extra few days off over Easter, a few keen SSAC divers decided to check out Little Bay, a spot most hadn’t dived before and not often frequented as the swell and conditions must be just right. Being a holiday weekend one member made the call to schedule the dive very early to avoid the crowds and get home to family duties (they subsequently decided it was even too early for them and opted for the sleep in).
Rocking up to the site pre 7am the conditions were perfect and we snagged the last of the parking and promptly kitted up for the stroll down the steps to the water. After a quick impromptu warm up lap of the bay in 3m of water we made our way out round the corner and into the boulders which made for a fantastic dive. The highlights were a trio of juvenile cuttle fish, a few fiddler rays, and the fun game of collecting golf balls (The Coast Golf Club must have some very ordinary players as there were more than a few golf balls 100’s of meters offshore away from the greens).
Site Bar in Little Bay delivering the goods post dive with coffees and bacon and egg rolls rounding out the morning.
Another great Sydney shore dive.
