Mogo Campground May 2024

Waves Shape

It has been a while since the last Kangaroo Valley excursion and despite the club spit being lost in the intervening decade Owen was not to be deterred and offered to cook up a feast.  Rather than phaff around with the canoes and all that paddling, it was decided to head north to Mogo Creek. If you take the M1 it’s about 2 hours out of Sydney, which allows plenty of time to enjoy a stroll down to the Circuit Flat Bridge for some fine convict engineering.

If you prefer a winding drive, you can come the long way round via Wisemans Ferry, which has the added bonus of lunch at the Settlers Arms.  Although, some people, Andy, did have trouble moving on from the pub.

By the time everyone had gathered at the campground Owen was hard at it with a couple of legs of lamb on one wood barbeque, a couple of smoked chickens on the fire pit and cauliflower cheese + plenty of veg going on a gas burner.  The feast was delivered just as the moon was rising and it was devoured by the hungry hordes.  The rest of the evening was spent enjoying the campfire and toasting marshmallows.
