For over 5 years SSAC has volunteered to help out at the NSW Pool Life Saving Championships and this year was no exception. Five SSAC divers gave up their weekends and spent two days dragging manikins up and down the pool and carefully positioning rubber bricks into place for the competitors to retrieve during their event heats.
The pool lifesaving championships are an incredibly fascinating event showcasing some fantastic skills and athletes, check out a video of the event below.
Volunteering at the event has become a SSAC tradition and, over the years, the club have become manikin wrestling experts. Hopefully we will be back next year to continue the tradition and lend a hand.
