The first dive of the year was at one of the club’s favorites: Shiprock. The visibility was much improved over the previous visit but still had slightly murky conditions. It was an awesome wall dive with lots of life. The team saw hermit crabs, a school of catfish, a banded shrimp and an unexpected wobbegong at three metres.

The second half of the dive was particularly nice with a gentle current to take the team to the exit. The usual coffee & grub at Vitalo was thrown into disarray as they were shut for the holidays! Unsurprisingly, D’lish On Port, a couple of doors down, was doing a roaring trade….while the food hit the spot, the coffee got mixed reviews. Many, potentially optimistic, dive trips for 2026 were planned over the burgers and coffee. Hopefully, they all come to fruition!
