With the swell predicted to be up it was decided that most of the exposed dive spots would be completely washed out and Shiprock was our best bet to get in the water, although, our expectations were low. How wrong we were! The stars aligned and we scored the trifecta of the tide, the visibility, and cracking Sydney weather making for a great 60min dive for Steve T, Ben, and Steve W.
Strategically beating the other punters kitting up we dopped in slightly early into the current and down over the wall to 15m. Ben on his rebreather, and sporting the macro lens on his camera, quickly went to work snapping away whilst the Steves leisurely made their way off the wall and out to the “bombies”, loads of soft sponges and a nice sized wobbegong shark providing plenty to check out. Hitting 30min and 120bar we turned the dive and drifted back along the wall slightly shallower and with the outgoing dive.
No prizes for guessing what the post dive activity was…. Yep… bacon and egg rolls with all the trimmings and coffee. Vitalo providing the goods and rounding out a fantastic Sunday morning.

Another great Sydney shore dive!
